PET Neutral College Campus

On the occasion of the “World Environment Day” Pillai College of Engineering, New Panvel initiated one more step to preserve and care for Environment.

Pillai College of Engineering along with Reliance India Ltd. inaugurated “Plastic Bottle Recycling Machine” on 3rd June, 2019.
Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus, New Panvel is the first “PET Neutral College Campus” in Maharashtra. This is joint project with PCE, Reliance and Biocrux Ltd.

The launch and the inaugural ceremony of this noble initiative was done by Dr. Ganesh Deshmukh the Panvel Municipal Commissioner along with our CEO Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Sir, COO Dr. Priam Pillai, Mr. Ajay from Biocrux, Mr. Abhijit Datey PET Business Head from Reliance, Dr. Sandeep Joshi Principal PCE, Dr. Biswajit Panda PCE at 11.00 a.m. at “EPIC CAFE Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus, Sector 16, New Panvel.

Collaboration of Pillai College of Engineering and BIOCRUX INDIA and Reliance Industries Limited comes up with the first educational campus installation of compact, automatic and noiseless machine for recycling of PolyEthylene Terephthalate (PET) bottles. Bottles are crushed to flakes.The flakes are converted to resin, which is then reused to make objects like dustbins, plastic manhole covers, bio-toilet doors, polyester fibre etc. True celebration of World Environment Day.
