Internships

  • Students are constantly encouraged to engage themselves in internships during the vacation periods.
  • Internships give a real insight into the world of work, to build on the theory learned at university with practical skills. It is a practical & professional learning experience that offers meaningful approach to a student’s field of study or career interest. It offers them great opportunities to speak directly to the experts in their field. It offers them the chance to test their skills in real-life situations, explore their career options and gain an insight into an organisation or career path.
  • In view of the above, a 6-months long credit-based internship was introduced for the first time for the final year Engineering students of 2023-24 batch with 100% success and therefore being continued year-on.

Students who complete a substantial number of internships during their time at PCE are awarded a certificate of merit for their efforts.

Guidelines for Internships

The internships policy of the institute is governed in principal by the AICTE internship policy.

  1. Internships may be full-time or part-time; they are full-time in the summer vacation and part-time during the academic session.
  2. During the summer vacation after 4th / 6th semester, students are ready for industrial experience. Therefore, they may choose to undergo Internship / Innovation / Entrepreneurship / Social Service-related activities.
  3. Internships are mandatory, credit-based & full-time for the Final year Engineering students in the 8th semester.

Procedure

  1. Request Letter on College Letterhead from the Engineering office/ Training and Placement cell of the college should go to industry to allot various slots of 4-6 weeks during summer vacation and so also for 4-6 months long-internship duration for the students. Students request letter / profile / interest areas may be submitted to industries for their willingness for providing the training.
  2. Industry will confirm the training slots and the number of seats allocated for internships via Confirmation Letter / Offer Letter / Email. In case the students arrange the training themselves the confirmation letter will be submitted by the students in the office of Training & Placement through concerned department.
  3. Students will submit training report after completion of internship.
  4. Training Certificate to be obtained from industry.
  5. List of students who have completed their internship successfully will be issued by Training and Placement Cell.
